My Approach
- Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotisha or Hindu astrology, is an ancient Indian science that studies the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world. The approach of Vedic astrologers is deeply rooted in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism, and involves a holistic understanding of karma, dharma, and the interconnectedness of all life.
- Vedic astrologers use a sidereal zodiac system, which is different from the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology. This system takes into account the Earth’s precession and aligns the zodiac with the current positions of the constellations. They create a birth chart or ‘Janma Kundali’ based on the exact time and place of a person’s birth, which maps the positions of the planets and the zodiac signs.
- The analysis of this chart enables astrologers to provide insights into a person’s personality traits, potential life events, and their karmic path. They consider the ‘Navagrahas’ (the nine planets) and the 27 ‘Nakshatras’ (lunar mansions) along with the 12 houses of the chart, each representing different aspects of life.
- Vedic astrologers also emphasize the importance of ‘Dashas’, or planetary periods, which predict the timing of significant events in a person’s life. Remedial measures, such as mantras, gemstones, and rituals, are often suggested to mitigate any negative influences and enhance positive outcomes.
- The approach is not just predictive; it’s also prescriptive, offering guidance for living a balanced and harmonious life aligned with cosmic rhythms and individual karma. It’s a spiritual and philosophical practice as much as it is an astrological one
